Today, Monday 12 September, we have begun to harvest Sangiovese grapes to produce IGT wines. In regard to the grapes for the Brunello di Montalcino and for the Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Paganelli (Paganelli vineyard) reserve, the grapes are not yet at the correct point of ripening.

The maximum temperatures continue to be around 30° C. (86° F.) and the minimum around 16-17° C. (61-63° F.)

For this reasons, we continue to begin to work in the morning around 7:00 a.m. (when the light is sufficient to see the grapes to be harvested, since we harvest all the grapes exclusively by hand) and we stop working at 1:00 p.m.

In the last days, during the night, the humidity has increased notably. And this gives a little bit of relief to the vines. The long-term meteorologic forecast does not give rain. Even in this vintage, the old vines that are 30 or more years old will make the difference in the quality of the wines.
